Because I have two more years of warranty on my 2006 Saturn Ion, I was very pleased to see Penske (or anybody!) step forward with assurances of continuity.

Like you I feel my particular model was well designed, offers trouble-free dependability and still looks stylish.

Naturally it is no longer offered.

I still suspect that the bond holders, who have been screwed for investing US jobs, may well carry the court decsision that authorized this restructuring (more for pragmatically making the economy get along, than following bankruptcy code) could well further appeal this mess.

Personally, amputating the lines that are profitable, (eg Saturn, Hummer, Saab) seems the most obdurately vapid moves for the long term, but if one is left with myopic management (when there ought to be leadership) GM seems doomed to follow DeSoto and Nash.
